Eating disorders are extremely dangerous, which is why our Smiles for Life Dental Group team asks you to seek help as soon as possible. The sooner you receive the help you need, the sooner you and your smile will be healthy once again. Until then, it’s best to take extremely great care of your teeth, especially if you're disorder involves throwing up. In order to take care of your chompers, please do the following things on a regular basis:
-Keep up on oral hygiene: Oral hygiene is extremely important if you wish to maintain a healthy smile. So, please remember to brush your teeth twice a day, floss your smile once a day, and rinse your mouth daily with mouthwash. Please be sure to use the proper tools so you can clean your chompers all while caring for your gums.
-Use baking soda: Do NOT brush your teeth after you’ve thrown up. Brushing will only harm the tooth enamel more. Instead, please rinse your mouth with baking soda to neutralize the effects of the stomach acid.
-Visit your dentist: It’s vital to visit your dentist regularly. If you don’t, the stomach acid will erode your teeth and cause tooth decay. So, make sure you receive a dental cleaning and checkup at least every six months.
